On a global scale, few actually own Bitcoin (BTC).

According to Robert Kiyosaki, the author “Rich Dad Poor Dad,” though, everyone should own the cryptocurrency ahead of the coming “banking crisis.”

This comment is in line with the sentiment of an impending collapse in banking and in the fiat currency system that Kiyosaki has extensively shared since the pandemic began.

Months ago, the tweets of financial educator and entrepreneur Robert Kiyosaki began to gain traction within Crypto Twitter.

Seemingly due to the pandemic, Kiyosaki began to fear that a collapse of the institutions that run the economy is entirely possible.

And according to him, owning gold, silver, and some Bitcoin is a smart way to hedge risks against this collapse.

On August 20th, he doubled down on this sentiment when he tweeted:

“WHY BUFFET is OUT OF BANKS . Banks bankrupt. MAJOR BANKING CRISIS COMING FAST. Fed & Treasury to take over banking system? Fed and Treasury “helicopter fake money” direct to people to avoid mass rioting? Not a time to “Think about it.” How much gold, silver, Bitcoin do you have?”

Kiyosaki added that along with a collapse in the banking sector, he is also expecting a secondary drop in the stock market that will be “bigger than March 2020,” when the S&P 500 plunged by approximately 40%.

Although it isn’t clear if Kiyosaki’s fears are valid, many analysts agree that owning BTC is more logical than ever due to stronger fundamentals than ever.

Real Vision chief executive Raoul Pal, who is a Wall Street veteran, said that all trades may be inferior to Bitcoin due to charts and fundamentals:

“In fact, only one asset has offset the growth of the G4 balance sheet. Its not stocks, not bonds, not commodities, not credit, not precious metals, not miners. Only one asset massively outperformed over almost any time horizon: Yup, Bitcoin. My conviction levels in bitcoin rise every day. Im already irresponsibly long. I am now thinking it may not be even worth owning any other asset as a long-term asset allocation, but that’s a story for another day (I’m still thinking through this).”

Analyst Josh Rager Is Holding This Crypto Asset Until It Hits $100,000 – And It’s Not Bitcoin

Crypto analyst and trader Josh Rager says he’s holding onto one altcoin until it surges to $100,000.

Rager tells his 80,000 followers on Twitter that he believes YFI has a ton of room to grow, if he can resist the urge to take profits.

“Bought three YFI around $2,500. Sold two way too early… Could be close to $50,000 combined value right now. But kept one and not selling until over $100,000. Current high so far over $16,100.”

Rager points out that YFI has already surpassed Bitcoin (BTC) in terms of price and it did so in a relatively short period of time.

“I guess 1 YFI does equal 1 BTC… Imagine buying Bitcoin a month ago at $2,000 and it shooting up to its current $12,000 value. Everyone would die for that opportunity. Well YFI just did that.”

YFI is the governance token of decentralized finance (DeFi) protocol yearn.finance.

It is dubbed as an “automated yield aggregator” as the platform scours all other DeFi protocols, locks in the one that offers the best yields, and deposits the funds in that specific protocol.

The process allows users to farm protocols that generate the highest yields.

While YFI offers an attractive use case, there’s always a risk of massive devaluation.

Yield farming platform YAM witnessed its market cap soar to nearly $60 million on August 13th only to collapse to $0 in a matter of hours, according to CoinGecko.

Asset management giant Fidelity, who currently holds $10.4 trillion in assets under management, projects a $1 million Bitcoin price by 2026, according to Jurrien Timmer, the director of Global Macro at Fidelity Investments.

The explosion in wealth that will occur as BTC gains in value will create a new class of billionaires.

Balaji Srinivasan, who doubled as Coinbase’s first CTO, wrote an article titled “The Billionaire Flippening” articulating what he believes will be the structural societal impact of Bitcoin’s ever-increasing price.

He says that when bitcoin hits milestones like $100,000, there will be as many bitcoin billionaires as there are traditional billionaires. When bitcoin hits one million dollars, the world’s bitcoin and crypto billionaires will surpass the number of traditional billionaires.

To add my own calculus to his math, bitcoin’s CAGR (Compounded Annual Growth) of 200% means that it is reasonable to think that within the next two years half the world’s billionaires will have made their fortunes from cryptocurrency (when one bitcoin equals), and within five years (when one bitcoin equals $1 million) there will be more bitcoin/crypto billionaires than from every other industry combined!

Bitcoin is the new gold, said Thomas Fitzpatrick – a Managing Director in the giant multinational bank Citibank. 

He also predicted that BTC could skyrocket to $318,000 per Bitcoin in the upcoming 13 months by exploring several historical price cycles and the ongoing economic uncertainties.

Fitzpatrick has spent 22 years as the Global Head of Citibank’s G10 Forex business arm called Citi FX Technicals. Apart from analyzing the foreign exchange market, though, he recently explored the performance of gold and Bitcoin as outlined by a popular cryptocurrency commentator.

The Managing Director at Citibank emphatically noted in the report that “Bitcoin is the new gold.” He highlighted BTC’s limited supply and digital form as two of its most distinctive features.

Bitcoin also “moves across borders easily and ownership is opaque.” That last point is “very relevant” as “the huge Fiscal deterioration of today has a cost in the future, either directly or indirectly.”

Additionally, Fitzpatrick weighed in on the argument of how would central bank digital currencies (CBDCs) impact the primary cryptocurrency and world economies:

“This is a double-edged sword. On one side, it [CBDC] creates a much more effective mechanism for distributing stimulus (particularly fiscal), but on the other side, it also makes capital confiscation easier (e.g., negative interest rates.) Both these scenarios would look to me to be positive 

Bitcoin and in the 21st Century give us the digital equivalent (Bitcoin versus FIAT digital) of what we saw in the 20th Century when the financial regime changed (Gold versus FIAT paper).”

Apart from comparing BTC to gold, Fitzpatrick also examined Bitcoin’s historical price performances and provided a somewhat optimistic prediction, as the chart below demonstrates.

Fitzpatrick touched upon Bitcoin’s massive volatility and remarkable price developments during the last decade. He highlighted the two most significant market booms.

Those are BTC’s two-year-long rally from 2011 to 2013, where its price multiplied by “an incredible 555 times” and the latest major bull run that culminated in 2017’s all-time high of $20,000.

However, he also pointed out that a vicious bear market followed in both cases, which dropped BTC’s price by about 85%.

Fitzpatrick believes that Bitcoin is actually in a bull market now that started in December 2018 and could lead to groundbreaking price territories. As he noted that every new cycle is longer than the previous one, the current one could end in December 2021. This time horizon allows for BTC to explode in value and “move as high as $318,000.”

With Bitcoin’s price currently sitting at $16,000, such a 1,900% price surge sounds a bit far-fetched at the moment, to say the least.

However, it’s worth noting that Fitzpatrick’s model is not the only one that sees BTC reaching similar territory. The creator of the famous stock-to-flow model foresees $288,000 per coin by December 2021.
