Morgan Creek Digital co-founder Anthony Pompliano says Bitcoin’s status among traditional investors is starting to change.

In an interview with Yahoo Finance, Pompliano says the longer BTC continues to thrive and prove naysayers predicting its demise wrong, the more people will take notice of its remarkable rise in value over the last decade.

He points to the fact that JP Morgan is now providing banking services to crypto exchanges Coinbase and Gemini as a sign of what’s to come.

“Bitcoin is not going away. You’re starting to see a lot of Wall Street investors actually putting it in their portfolios. And they’re starting to also have some track record for these exchanges or businesses, so they can see the financial performance.

So I think ultimately, what you’re really going to start to see is banks can’t ignore this space.”

Pompliano says he’s seeing institutional investors increasingly view Bitcoin as a hedge against the volatility of other financial markets.

“About a year ago, it started to be a thing like, oh, that hasn’t died yet? Maybe I should do some more work and get educated on it. Now what we’re seeing is two separate groups of people. Some that have done that work and are now gaining exposure. So you see someone like a Paul Tudor Jones come in and say he’s got 1-2% of his portfolio. And he’s worried about inflation given all the printing that’s going on…

In the second bucket, what you’ve got is a lot of institutional investors that are sitting there saying, ‘Look, I’m just doing asset allocation and this asset is very unique in that it, over a long period of time, has been non-correlated to other assets. It’s able to improve my Sharpe ratio and can actually drive on a risk reward standpoint a significant increase in my performance by only allocating a small amount of capital.”

Pompliano says he’s not wavering from his personal Bitcoin prediction price path through 2021.

“My guess is we’ll continue to grind up for the next 18 months or so, and I do expect it to be the best performer coming out of this crisis. I’m on record as saying I think Bitcoin will hit $100,000 per BTC by 2021, which is obviously more than a 10x increase in a relatively short period of time in the traditional financial world.”

With the next Bitcoin Halving now less than 7 hours away, these are very exciting times for the Crypto market.

Just 72 hours ago, BTC was trading at $10,100, but the cryptocurrency has since sustained a strong drop leading into the BTC halving.

This culminated on Saturday evening and Sunday morning, when the Bitcoin price crashed from the $10,000 highs to $8,100 within the span of a few hours.

It was a strong drop that liquidated over $200 million worth of long positions on BitMEX. Bitcoin’s stark reversal from the highs has convinced many of a bearish case.

One prominent trader that last year predicted BTC’s 2019 bottom of $6,400 said that he expects yet another move to $6,400.

Though a market study by Market Science, a cryptocurrency data analytics and market research firm, has confirmed that such a drop may not happen.

Their study indicates that there’s a 77% chance Bitcoin trades at $10,000 within the next week. Because the Chicago Mercantile Exchange’s Bitcoin futures don’t trade on weekends, there are normally “gaps” formed on the charts on every Monday morning.

The crypto market is 24/7, meaning that from the CME close on Friday to the open on Monday morning, there can be volatility that creates such gaps.

Just today, Bitcoin formed a record $1,265 gap, as a top trader noted. This was formed because the Friday price action on the exchange closed at ~$10,000 while the Monday price action opened at $8,785.

It’s a potentially bullish sign for the Bitcoin market, a market study has suggested. Published on December 30th of last year, crypto research firm Market Science found that 77% of CME gaps fill, meaning price touches each portion of the gap, “in the subsequent week” after the gap forms.

The gap isn’t the only sign indicating Bitcoin will undergo a bullish reversal, analysts suggest.

One popular trader shared the chart below, indicating that there are remarkable similarities between Bitcoin’s price action for all of 2020 and that of the past three days: both periods have a four-phase distribution top, a capitulation crash, then a rapid recovery from the lows.

The fractal playing out in full, the trader suggested, will result in BTC returning to $10,000 in the coming two to three days.

“This is the most important Bitcoin breakout in BTC history”, says popular Crypto analyst CryptoBirb.

He’s referring to Bitcoin’s recent ability to break above a descending trendline and bull pennant that has been formed since the 2017 peak.

We saw a similar breakout in June of 2016, which is what sparked the massive uptrend that ultimately resulted in Bitcoin seeing a parabolic move to $20,000 in late-2017.

If history rhymes, this could mean that Bitcoin is entering the early phases of its next major bull trend.

ANALYST: BITCOIN MAY “TELEPORT” TO $13,000 IF IT BREAKS KEY LEVEL

Bitcoin is stuck beneath $12,000. This stalling momentum comes after the cryptocurrency incurred an incredibly strong uptrend that had led it from lows of $9,000 to highs of $12,000 in a matter of weeks.

The cryptocurrency’s ongoing consolidation phase suggests that buyers don’t have enough buying pressure to shatter the resistance that sits just above where it is currently trading.

It may also indicate that buyers are losing their momentum. Nonetheless, BTC is still just a hair away from closing above a crucial level that could allow it to “teleport” up towards $13,000.

It is essential to consider that BTC is currently in a multi-day consolidation phase directly after being caught within a strong bull trend.

This isn’t an uncommon occurrence within bull markets, and BTC could even dip lower while still maintaining its market structure.

The crucial level that buyers need to defend going forward sits at $10,500, which was previously a resistance level that had held strong for nearly a year.

If this level is broken below, it may negate the strength that Bitcoin has been incurring in recent weeks.

At the moment, it does not appear that any sort of sharp downtrend is imminent, as each dip over the past several days has been rapidly absorbed by buyers.

Despite its stalling momentum, Bitcoin is just a hair away from breaking above a crucial level that could lead it to see massive upside.

One popular cryptocurrency analyst spoke about this level in a recent post, noting that a close above the region between $11,800 and $12,000 could be all that is needed for BTC to “teleport” to $13,000.

“Weekly close above and you will witness an immediate teleportation to 13k,” he said.
