Bitcoin price may be over seven times higher than at its last halving, but if history repeats, that number could grow another 300% with a BTC price peak as much as $253,800.

Bitcoin currently trades 7.3 times its price since the halving in May 2020. If the last halving cycle is anything to go by, however, price action will not stop until it is 30 times higher.

Ethereum saw much larger comparative gains relative to Bitcoin – 120 times its halving price marked last cycle’s peak in 2018.

Thus, a repeat performance would mean ETH/USD trading at $22,300 – again not beyond the realms of possibility.

Since the 3rd halving:

🟠 BTC is up 7.3x (topped at 29.5x last cycle)

🔴 ETH is up 24.8x (topped at 120x last cycle)

Samson Mow, chief strategy officer of blockchain technology provider Blockstream, has said he expects El Salvador’s volcano-powered, Bitcoin-back bonds to help the BTC price climb to $1 million per Bitcoin in just five years.

“If Bitcoin at the five-year mark reaches $1 million, which I think it will, [El Salvador] will sell BTC in two quarters and recoup that $500 million,” said Mow, speaking alongside El Salvador’s president Nayib Bukele at the weekend and explaining how the country could finance its Bitcoin bonds.

Popular Crypto analyst, Kraken and Bitcoin Magazine editor, Pete Rizzo called BTC cycle price tops “psychological attacks on Bitcoiners” and predicts Bitcoin to hit $500K this year.

“If Bitcoin wants to create a top, it going to have to convince some of the never-sell-Bitcoin bulls to give up some Bitcoin,” he said.

“I’m confident in the Bitcoin technology’s ability to coax sellers back to the market, and the price at which it does so will likely be higher than we can posit currently because it’s an attack on us.”

Bitcoin has broken the $60,000 level and is back in the area of its all-time high (ATH) set in April 2021. Based on a fractal analysis of charts of previous BTC cycles, the peak prediction for the ongoing bull market even reaches the vicinity of $390,000.

The US Securities and Exchange Commission has reportedly greenlit the country’s first Bitcoin futures exchange-traded fund (ETF).

ProShares, an ETF provider, filed a post-effective amendment prospectus on Friday that states the company plans to launch the BTC Futures ETF on Monday, a sign that the SEC has approved the product.

Bitcoin has surpassed the $60,000 mark briefly for the first time since April 2021. The BTC price has been boosted by reports suggesting a Bitcoin futures ETF (Exchange Traded Fund) is likely to begin trading in the United States as early as next week.

Bloomberg senior ETF analyst, Eric Balchunas, is confident that the ProShares Bitcoin Strategy ETF could be the first one launched as the decision deadline is Oct. 18. The Invesco Bitcoin Strategy ETF may be approved the following day barring any further delays by the SEC.

In a tweet on Oct. 15, the analyst stated: “Pretty much done deal. Expect launches next week,” before adding the “odds now over 90% IMO.”

Bitcoin is clinging to $68,000 on Nov. 9 after traders declared it “clear for take-off” and ready to begin further price discovery.

Quantitative analyst PlanB is predicting when the market cap value of BTC could overtake that of more traditional assets such as gold and real estate.

PlanB sees Bitcoin’s market cap reaching somewhere between $10 and $100 trillion.

“After the next halving, or really this halving, we should get really close to the gold market cap. And after the next halving, it would really surprise me if an asset that is recognized by the market as a store of value, that has more than a trillion dollars in value, if that store of value, with a bigger scarcity than gold, would not at least be valued higher than gold. 

So somewhere between gold and real estate – $10 trillion and $100 trillion, roughly.”
